The People Lose, the State Wins

PPC leader Maxime Bernier got some bad news we wanted to update you about. You’ll recall, last month Maxime’s constitutional challenge against the government for their travel restrictions applying to the unvaccinated began. Government lawyers argued that the case should be thrown out. They said it was no longer relevant, since the mandates had since been suspended. Well, Maxime’s lawyer informed him last night that the judge had sided with the government! The reasons in support of this bizarre decision are unknown and will be provided later by the judge. To be honest with you, this experience has really shaken ours and Maxime’s faith in our institutions. In this country, there is supposed to be a division of powers that hold each other accountable. The executive branch, the legislative branch, and the judicial branch. Not to mention our Constitution. But what we saw in the last few years is the legislative branch cede power to the executive branch to take actions that violated our fundamental, constitutional rights. And when we went to challenge these actions in the judicial branch, what did the government do? They swept it under the rug and demanded the judicial branch ignore our challenge. This is not how Western Democracies are supposed to function. This is straight out of a Banana Republic or a Dictatorship! We and Maxime won’t stand for it! If we can’t prove that these unnecessary restrictions were unconstitutional - which we’re absolutely certain they were - then there’s nothing to stop the Trudeau regime from bringing them back whenever it's convenient for them! We don’t accept this unjust decision. But we need your help. Maxime’s lawyer is already working on an appeal to send this case to the Federal Court of Appeal. And Maxime won’t stop there. He will take this case all the way to the Supreme Court if necessary. But he can’t do it alone. Maxime needs the support of every patriotic Canadian that knows these restrictions were wrong and unlawful. You can help him win this crucial battle for all of us. Please visit SupportMaxime.ca and make a $10 donation today.

Many thanks!
