Grubby Innuendo

The following statement may contain false and misleading information,
Your father ( insert name ) may have been a pedophile.
The above statement is true inasmuch as it is true of all fathers. That your father may have been a pedophile is true in the realm of possibility and therefor it is true of all fathers everywhere, and revolves around the grubby use of the key word MAY.
However that same statement is also false and misleading because Mr. Independent fact checker ( IFC) took the time to say it ( as a recognized authority ) and used your fathers actual name and no other father’s name, in the statement. Although IFC never explicitly said your father is a pedophile, you the son will wonder why he said it at all, and assume that there is probably some substance to the statement. Based on the commonly held belief that where there is smoke, there is fire. Innuendo is all smoke. Publishing the statement elevates the allegation from the realm of abstract possibility to that of likely probability, not in the statement itself but in the readers mind.
The statement your father may be a pedophile, misleads the mind into a number of questions and assumptions. At the same time, Mr. IFC, avoids the risk of being accused of false allegation or slander for in fact he has alleged nothing at all. The phrase, the following statement may contain false and misleading information is a tautology which means that it's saying nothing at all.
Stating that quote “the above article May contain false and misleading information” is a classic example of innuendo. Below is a precise if somewhat high-brow definition of Innuendo from the Journal of Pragmatics.
Venomous innuendo is defined as a non-overt intentional negative ascription, whether true or false, usually in the form of an implicature, which is understood as a charge against what is, for the most part, a non-present party. The aim of the initiator of an innuendo is to smear the target of the innuendo by bringing about irrevocable changes in the belief systems of the intended recipients of the innuendo. The use of innuendo as a means of attacking a target is the result of a calculation of the risks of explication together with the benefits of implication.
Volume 27, Issue 1, January 1997, Pages 35-59
Lets unpack that definition. Non-overt means that it is a hidden suggestion. Intentional means that the writer clearly intends to create a psychological response in the reader. It is expressed in the form of implicature.. This simply says that innuendo “ implies” only. It is never explicit. Mr. IFC never says, “Dr. Malone, lied when he said, or he mislead the reader when he said a or b”, rather this is implied by the phrase, may contain. Irrevocable changes in the belief systems of the intended recipients of the innuendo. What Mr. IFC is seeking to achieve is that his readers will come to believe, irrevocably that Dr. Robert Malone is a malicious Liar, seeking to harm innocent people with false and misleading statements.
However, at no time, will the IFC actually prove or even attempt to prove that Dr. Malone has made any actual false or misleading statement, because if Mr. IFC did that then he, Mr. IFC, would be personally responsible for his allegations and could be sued in court. Nor will Mr. IFC ever attempt to bring a legal charge against Dr. Malone, for Dr. Malone as a genuine, brilliant, and explicit fact checker himself would crush him and FB in court. What makes Dr. Malone so dangerous to the official narrative is that he is the epitome of a truly independent fact checker.
Indeed the term, independent fact checker, is itself an example of a false and misleading term. It would be accurate to call these miscreants working for FB “contracted spin doctors.“ They are anonymous, anything but independent, and have no concern with facts whatsoever. Their job is to protect the “authorized version” by smearing, via innuendo only, those who would publish actual facts which contradict the authorized version published by Big Pharma and the government.
Consider the following quotes regarding innuendo,
“The lack of proper sourcing, referencing and openness to scrutiny is what has allowed much populist journalism to become a bitter cocktail of spiteful conjecture, grubby innuendo and cynical PR spin; all topped with the occasional investigatory cherry to justify the price."
( emphasis mine )
“But our problem with the press is less about politics than integrity. The ease with which flimsy insinuation is published as information, insinuation that can cause serious damage to a person of quality, is something that should deeply concern every American. We should not tolerate it.” Star Parker is an author and president of CURE, Center for Urban Renewal and Education. Contact her at www.urbancure.org.
The issue of innuendo has two aspects. The ethical impropriety of engaging in innuendo and the ethical impropriety, and intellectual sloth, of tolerating and allowing innuendo to create “irrevocable changes in your belief system.”
Next time you read , this statement may contain, realize that you are being victimized along with Dr. Malone and all the others targeted by FB and their Grubby Innuendo.
As stated by Star Parker, flimsy insinuation ( which is as good a definition of innuendo as any) should not be tolerated.
